I was born in Florida and moved to Diamond Bar when I was seven. That was the same year my parents divorced, and I felt like my life got turned upside down. Although there were several rough years following my parents’ divorce, I was fortunate to have a great, godly mom who raised me and showed me what it meant to be a follower of Christ. I grew up in the church and can’t actually remember a time when I didn’t know Jesus. From that standpoint, my testimony is very “boring,” and I praise God for that.
It was in high school that God worked in my life and gave me a great desire to grow in my relationship with Jesus Christ, study His word, and serve in ministry. Pursuing that desire, I went to Pensacola Christian College and graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies. I then went on to earn a Master’s in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Several years later, while working at Azusa Pacific University, God opened the door for me to continue my education and earn an MBA.
During my time working at APU, I met my beautiful wife, Jen, who also worked there. But we actually met on eHarmony! We got married in 2011 and have two children, Caleb and Olivia. Currently, we are following God’s lead as foster parents and pray to one day be able to adopt. My first ministry is to my family, and I pray that I love and serve them well, and that my kids have as “boring” a testimony as mine.
I always thought I’d work at a church as a second career later in life, but God opened the door for me to come on staff here at Foothill Church in 2012. It has been amazing to see God at work in this place, and I’m excited for what is ahead.
