Counseling

There are times in everyone’s life when you need help and guidance as you walk through a particular struggle or difficult season of life. We’d love to come alongside and help. At Foothill Church, we see biblical counseling as an extension of the discipleship that is already happening here, so we will counsel and disciple biblically (from the entirety of God’s word) and compassionately (understanding the diversity of human struggle and experience). Our goal is to help people meet the challenges of life in a way that honors Christ (1 Corinthians 10:31) and brings the greatest hope for change.

We Counsel From the Bible

We believe that the Bible provides sufficient guidance and instruction for all of the issues of faith and life (be they behavioral, cognitive, or emotional). We also believe that God ministers the Word of God, empowered by the Spirit of God, through the Body of God (the church), and so we seek to offer compassionate biblical counsel to those in need.

We Counsel In the Church

All of our biblical counseling is designed to take place in the context of the local church. This means that connection to Christian community is key to growth. The church is designed to be the place where you can work out the long–range impact of your biblical counseling in stable, loving relationships with other Christians.

Our counselors have received appropriate biblical counseling training, or are presently receiving biblical counseling training. However, our counselors are neither state-licensed nor trained as psychotherapists or mental health professionals, and should not be expected to follow the methods of such specialists. For more specifics on the type of counseling Foothill offers, see our consent form.

If you would like to request biblical counseling or resources to help you through a particular struggle or difficult season of life, please fill out the Counseling Request Form. Please note that counseling availability is limited, but whether we can take on your request or not, someone will review your form and contact you as soon as possible to help you consider a next step for your care.
