What to Know for Tonight!

Lesson: Building a Gospel Presence at Your School
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:20–6:2

Tonight we conclude our Gospel series with a special guest, Brandon Gonzales. Brandon is a Foothill covenant partner and works with Decision Point, a ministry that equips students to share the Gospel with their generation so that every student has an opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus.

Throughout this series, we’ve encouraged students to know the Gospel, live in light of it, and share it with others. Tonight builds on our message about sharing the Gospel by focusing on building a Gospel presence at school. Teaching from 2 Corinthians 5:20–6:2, Brandon will encourage students to see their daily routines, friendships, classrooms, and teams as opportunities to represent Jesus. Students will practice starting Gospel conversations and consider how consistent prayer and intentional relationships can help them bring the good news of Jesus to their school.

We’re also launching the Pray 5 challenge: choosing five people to pray for every day for the next five weeks. Students will ask God for burden—a growing love for those who need Jesus—along with opportunity and boldness to share the Gospel. Ask to see your student’s Pray 5 bookmark and consider joining them in prayer!

Important Reminder!

Impact is a phone-free environment from the time students arrive until small groups end at 8:30 p.m. If you need to reach your student in an emergency, please text us at 626-761-0229 and we’ll respond right away. Our goal is to give them freedom from distraction so they can fully engage with one another and with God’s Word.

October Catechism

Who is God?

Catechism Answer:

God is the Creator of everyone and everything. He is holy, loving, and good; there is no darkness in Him. He is eternal, infinite, and sovereign. There is only one true God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is a God who desires to be known.

Scripture – Leviticus 19:1-2

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.

Conversation Question:

Why does it matter that God is loving and holy? What happens if we just focus on one of those attributes and not both?
