Kids Weekly for K–5th

Hey Parents! We are so glad your kiddo joined us this weekend in Foothill Kids. Our Bible Truth was “A divided heart leads to a divided life.” We looked at 1 Kings 11-12, and learned about the kingdom being divided.

Here are a few questions for you to discuss with your kiddo:

QUESTION 1: When God asked Solomon what he wanted, Solomon asked God for wisdom. What is wisdom? Wisdom is a gift God gives his followers to help us make right choices that honor Him. 

QUESTION 2: Why didn’t God take all the tribes away from Solomon and remove him as king? God promised Solomon’s father, David, that he would always have a son on the throne. God allowed Solomon to remain as king to keep his promise to David.

QUESTION 3: What lessons can we learn from this story about obeying God? Disobeying God brings bad consequences. Things, even God’s good gifts to us, can become idols. An idol in our lives is anything that we love more than God.
