Series: The Gospel
Hey Impact Parents! We’re excited to be back for our first Wednesday night of the year!
Over the next few weeks, we’re kicking off with a short series on the Gospel built around three simple ideas: Know the Gospel. Live the Gospel. Share the Gospel. Our hope is that our students wouldn’t just be familiar with the Gospel, but would understand it clearly, see how it changes their everyday lives, and be equipped to share it with others.
Lesson: Know the Gospel
Scripture: John 3:1-17
We’re starting with one of the most familiar verses in the Bible, John 3:16, but looking at the conversation that leads up to it. Jesus tells Nicodemus—a religious, knowledgeable, respected man—that he still needs to be “born again.”
Tonight we’ll ask: Why do we need to be saved, and what does it mean to be saved? We want students to see that the Gospel isn’t about becoming a better person or being religious enough. We need God to give us new life, and God has provided salvation through His Son. Our response is to look to Christ and believe.

What is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the good news of a holy God who created everyone and everything. We have all sinned and are by nature sinners, deserving of eternal judgment. But God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life and defeat sin by giving His life on the cross and rising again in three days. Jesus has brought victory for today and one day He will return to restore all creation and bring forth a new heaven and a new earth.
Scripture – Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Conversation Question:
What does it mean that we are by nature children of wrath? Are we sinners because of what we did or because of who we are?
