Kids Weekly for K–5th
Hey Parents! We are so glad your kiddo joined us this weekend in Foothill Kids. Our Bible Truth for this Sunday was “We reap what we sow.“ We looked at Genesis 29: 1-30 and learned about Jacob and Leah.
Here are a few questions for you to discuss with your kiddo:
QUESTION 1: How long did Jacob agree to work for Rachel and how many more years did he have to wait? Jacob worked for 7 years for Rachel but was tricked into marrying Leah instead. Then he had to work another 7 years for Rachel. So, he had to work a total of 14 years!
QUESTION 2: How is our story today similar to the story where Jacob steals Esau’s blessing? Jacob and his mother didn’t trust God to work out his plan, and Jacob’s mother dressed him up like his brother to steal the blessing. In our story today, Leah dressed up like Rachel in a wedding dress and stole Rachel’s lace as the bride.
QUESTION 3: How did God work Laban’s sin for good? God provided a husband for Leah; he taught Jacob a lesson for deceiving his brother; but most important, Jesus will be born into the future family of Leah’s sons.
We are back to practicing our Summer Bible Song:
