Chris Lewis

I always pray that young children will grow up to have a "boring testimony." What I'm praying is that God would rescue that child from a life of pain, rebellion and regret before it even happens. That's not boring. That's glorious.

But it's also what God did for me. He rescued me when I was 5 years old. I can actually remember feeling that my sin separated me from God and that if I died I would be eternally separated from him and those I loved. I told my mom what I was feeling. She knelt down with me in the living room and I prayed that Jesus would save me.

He did. And he still is.

My dad was an attorney and in Junior High I decided I wanted to follow in his footsteps and become an attorney. I majored in English in college (on the advice of all the partners of the law firm where I was a gopher). I also met Michelle who, outside of Jesus, is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Michelle and I married in 1989. After spending a year in China teaching English I enrolled at the University of Minnesota Law School and completed my J.D. in 1994.

In 1998, through a study of the book of Titus, God called me into ministry. I packed up my family and enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary. After graduating I spent a few years on staff at a church in Missouri and then moved to Glendora as Lead Pastor of Foothill Christian Center in December of 2006. (Now known as Foothill Church)

Michelle and I are the proud parents of Gabbie, Tucker, Berkeley and Gracie.

My hope for Foothill Church is that we might become a people shaped by the gospel. That we would be filled with people who are passionately pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ in every dimension of our lives.
